These 7 products I’ve been especially loving the past few months and I wanted to share!
I do happen to be a slight (self-proclaimed) product junkie. I love trying new make-up, face and body products, especially if they are ‘green’ or natural. I try my best to go for the more natural option when purchasing products and have found that all of these products are amazing and work amazingly well.
Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel– I use this witch hazel as my toner after washing my face. It has a wonderful rose scent, nothing overpowering and gives my skin a nice clean, fresh feeling after applied.
Ingredients: purified water, certified organic filet of Aloe Vera, glycerin, fragrance (natural rose), hamamelis Virginiana (made from organic witch hazel), rose flower water, citric acid, grapefruit seed extract.
Aura Cacia Sweet Almond Oil- Almond oil is a nice light oil, I have been adding it to my moisturizer right after I shower to add extra moisture to my skin.
Ingredients: Sweet Almond Oil, tocopheryl acetate.
Ole Henriksen Lemon Strip Flash Peel– I’ve really been working on trying to clear up some of my dark spots that I have on my skin, and after watching a YouTube video recommending this, I thought I would try it out. I’ve tried many other Ole Henriksen products, all I like, but this flash peel is especially good. After using, it really gives the feeling of having a very good cleaning. When applied your skin will burn a little and tingle, but nothing unmanageable.
Ingredients: Water, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Carrageenan, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, Vaccinum Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Oleth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Fragrance/Parfum, Caprylyl Glycol, Biosaccharide gum-1, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Hexylene Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Rhizome/Root, Limonene.
Everyone Hand Sanitizer Spray in coconut + lemon– absolutely LOVE this hand sanitizer!!! The scent makes you feel like you are on a beach! and the fact that it is in a spray bottle is SO convenient!! I really despise the other chemically smelling hand sanitizers and this one is perfect for keeping in your purse.
Ingredients: water, lemon peel oil, organic coconut flavour extract, vegetable glycerin.
Origins VitaZing SPF 15 Moisturizer– This Moisturizer is amazing!! It’s really all I have been wearing now that it is spring .. and my face has a bit of colour to it. This moisturizer has a sheer tint release, meaning it has a slight coverage when rubbed into your skin. It’s super light, so all it feels like is a light moisturizer on your skin.

Bite Agave Lip Mask– This is a bit of a splurge product, especially being a lip product. But I love how moisturized it keeps my lips, as well as the sweet honey scent! It is quite thick-which is why it is a lip mask… rather than a gloss.
Ingredients: Lanolin (medical grade), Organic Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Organic Agave Tequilana (blue agave) nectar, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil Unsaponifiables, Organic Cera Alba (Beeswax), Flavor, Vanillin, Siraitia Grosvenori (Monk Fruit), Vanilla Tahitensis (Vanilla) Fruit Extract, Organic Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Trans-Resveratrol, Vitis Vinefera (Grape) oil, Tocopherol acetate, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract (And) Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract (and) Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil.
Tarte park avenue princess Bronzer– I started using this bronzer after I finished with my other not-so-natural one and have really liked it so far. It has a matte finish and isn’t too dark. I lightly brush it over my forehead and cheeks to warm up my face!

Asian food is the one style of food that I leave to the professionals. It’s not something I ever really attempt to cook… unless it’s simple Phad Thai or a peanut butter sauce. I have to say.. I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to asian flavours.Read More »
Springtime is definitely here and in full force. Spring seems to have come especially early, as the temperature is more like summer already, instead of May. I am especially happy because all the delicious vegetables are beginning to come back into season. Seeing all the fresh vibrant vegetables coming back to the markets and grocery stores is just another reminder of the sunny weather for months ahead! Every year I can’t wait for spring, just to eat all the fresh vegetables!!
In this household we especially LOVE cucumbers! I give the boys half a plate of fresh veggies every night for dinner, and they love their cucumbers. Whether dipped in hummus or eating plain, they are happy to munch away on them. The other night for dinner I was craving something fresh and simple. So I made this super simple cucumber salad, with herbs from my garden. Very easy to make, goes really good as a simple side to a dish, or to be eaten just by itself and a refreshing snack.
Simple Cucumber Salad
This simple cucumber salad is tart from the vinegar, but super refreshing and delicious!
- 2 English Cucumbers, peeled & diced
- 2 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 2 Tbsp Fresh Chives and Parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Dill, fresh or dried
- Salt and Pepper
- Peel cucumbers. Slice them down the middle and into quarters. Chop into small bite size pieces and place into medium size bowl.
- Chop up the fresh herbs into fine pieces. Add to the bowl.
- Add vinegar, dill, and salt and pepper.
What do you love most about spring?
I always find it hard to find delicious, healthy, vegan/vegetarian restaurants while traveling. Because I cook mostly at home and rarely eat out, I am fairly picky when it comes to where I eat. When I’m away from home it sometimes gets difficult finding restaurants that serve the types of foods I like to eat and somewhere I want to return back to. Read More »
