I know there are about 10,000,000,000 green smoothie recipes out there in cook books, pinterest and all over every food website… but I thought I would share this super easy, nutritious green smoothie recipe that my boys slurped right up! So I knew it must be shared with the world.
I also have to give a shout out to the best invention in the world… the Vitamix blender. This realization happened tonight at about 530pm in the middle of making dinner, doing dishes, school backpacks and food all over the counter. Right after a long day, after skating lessons, after swimming lessons, trying to refereeing 2 tired, hungry, and fighting boys in the middle of the kitchen floor… I’m STARVING. So I throw together this super simple recipe and…… ahhhhhhhhhhhh peace and quiet for about 10 minutes to quickly finish off dinner and clean up a bit.
Super Hulk Green Smoothie Recipe
- 1 apple sliced (with peel)
- 1 banana
- 2 handfuls of spinach
- 1 cup frozen mango
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
- 2 cups ice
- Water (about 2 cups)
Throw all of the ingredients into your Vitamix Blender (or whatever blender you own). Making sure you don’t add too much water, as you want a thick consistency. Blend. Enjoy!
This is a great healthy snack for right before dinner as it is packed full of healthy ingredients and super quick! The banana adds sweetness and with a thicker consistency you can use spoons (which my boys love!) and scoop out the smoothie like ice cream.
