When I say I’m a sweaty hot mess, it’s no joke (well… used to be that is). I’m not sure if it was hormones, abnormal sweaty-ness, 20-something year old age sweating, or what.. but it felt like whatever I did..I would sweat. It wasn’t pretty and was really embarrassing at times. I never wanted to wear any coloured tops because it was a possibility of seeing sweat stains. I started to only wear white and black so it wouldn’t be noticeable.
This went on for most of my later teenage years and into my early twenties. I started using clinical strength protection deodorant and antiperspirants, which I knew is really bad for you (it contains aluminum and other yucky chemicals that blocks, clog and shrinks pores to stop your body from naturally sweating), but seemed to be the only solution that might help with my excessive sweatiness.
It wasn’t until one day.. not quite sure what I was doing.. but I squeezed a chunk of deodorant from my underarm. It was as though an extra-large pore was clogged with the deodorant. I was horrified. I knew how bad antiperspirants and conventional deodorants were for you.. but really didn’t realize until that moment what they were doing to my body.
After that I bought and tried a few different natural deodorants that didn’t really help or work the way I liked. It wasn’t until a friend, who has an extra sweaty husband, recommended the Herban Cowboy deodorant. I was hooked, and have been for the past 5 years. Now I don’t over sweat, no tacky pit stains, no smell and it is made with natural ingredients instead of horrible chemicals!
