Green beauty products, Natural beauty products, Clean beauty products.. whatever you want to call them.. are one of my loves, my guilty pleasures, and something that makes me excited and gives me butterflies (is that weird?). But seriously whenever I go into a store I am quickly drawn to the ‘natural’ beauty and skincare isle. I could spend hours looking over every product, readying every label, admiring every beautifully packaged product, and deciding if I really actually need anything. I’m not quite sure when this obsession truly started, but I do know that the first time I stepped into a Whole Foods Market, (which was about 4-5 years ago, since there isn’t/wasn’t (they are building one!!!!) one where I live) and walked over to the cosmetics and skincare, I felt like I was in heaven.
A mom from my son’s preschool was kind enough to give me this Origin’s Ornament set as a Christmas gift and I have been loving trying them out over the holiday. I have purchased quite a few other Origin’s products in the past and have really liked what I’ve tried.
The gift set includes:
Origin’s Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores – This mask was a basic charcoal mask to help unclog pores. I liked the amount that you get in the small sample sizes -which gives you 3-5 uses. My skin felt clean and soft after using this mask, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the price for a regular size ($30+).
Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay– This mask was also another basic clay mask. I didn’t notice a difference in my skin with a few uses, but maybe if I continued use weekly I would see more of a difference.
Origins Modern Friction Natures Gentle Dermabrasion – This winter on the west coast has felt especially cold and dry, which makes my skin extra dry! I have been exfoliation every 2-3 days and this defoliant has worked great! It comes out in a small white pillow-y texture with small granules that help to exfoliate the skin. It definitely worked very well for my dry skin and I would repurchase.
Origin’s Peace of Mind On-the-spot relief – this on-the-spot treatment is awesome!! and I have tried and tested out quite a few other spot treatments. Some of which include: Mario Badescu drying lotion, Boscia clear complexion willow bark spot treatment, Kate Somerville acne treatment, The Body Shop tea tree oil spot treatment and Tea Tree Oil. I H.A.T.E pimples.. who doesn’t? and I’m a picker.. so when I see one, I want it gone.. and automatically, I squeeze it to make it go away (which it doesn’t… it actually makes it worse!). Some treatments work better than others, this Origin’s on-the-spot treatment comes out as a white cream, which you dab on to the problem spot after washing your face. You will feel a tingling sensation – which I like because it makes me feel like it’s actually working, and it smells peppermint-y. I put it on in the evening after I wash my face and in the morning I noticed that the spot had gone down. I will be repurchasing this once I run out of this sample.
Origin’s Drink it up Hydrating Lip Balm – this lip balm is moisturizing and non-sticky. I have used it a number of times and it feels hydrating on my lips and is long-lasting.
